A native Texan, Erica Fletcher was homeschooled until her junior year of high school and entered the University of Houston at the age of 16. Majoring in anthropology, psychology, and sociology, she was named one of Glamour Magazine's Top Ten College Women in 2010 and has most recently been featured in Latina Magazine for her efforts in community development, nonprofit management, and ethnographic filmmaking. A Phi Kappa Phi Majorie Schoch Fellow and University of Texas Medical Branch Presidential Scholar, Erica is currently a second year graduate student, pursuing research interests in visual ethnography (filmmaking) and health education at the Institute for Medical Humanities.
During her spare time, Erica enjoys dinner parties, biking, dancing, kayaking, photography, camping, baking, late night conversations in coffee shops, traveling, hosting fellow travelers, taking tea, making art with friends, and walks on the beach.
